Ketchikan again!

Well, here we are in Ketchikan again on our way home. Got here this afternoon and took on 600 gallons of diesel and left our wallets a lot lighter. Didn't realize how much fuel we would go through as we waundered around. So far, some 2,200 miles and around 800 to go. Caught up with some old friends on Kingfisher, a Krogen 48, who are here as well with somne other folks. Rather windy here today and leaving could be interesting tommorow as we are tucked into a small slip in a fairly small fairway. Didn't see any whales today which is a sign that we are getting farther and farther away from their feeding grounds. Well, thats about all to report this evening. On the move again; Dave and Ann

Hi Folks....
Reads like all things are going well. Hope the weather your way is better than the rain and gray we are experiencing here in good old Ludlow.
Sad news...Dirk Eiseninger passed on today. Not sure of the cause...apparently he fell and struck his head....he was taking a blood thinner. Will know more when I talk with his daughter.
If you are looking for a bit of a different way home check your charts for this route. We turned left and went through Hiekish Narrows into Sheep Passage. This leads you to Mathieson Narrows which opens into Mathieson Passage. A short way down the Passage is a left turn into Kynoch Inlet which extends about 6 miles to the end at Culpepper Lagoon. The area is gorgeous...Kynoch is a bit deep at its termination so you will need plenty of anchor line. Culpepper is a magnificent lagoon. We took the dinghy through the narrow entrance and saw all sorts of wildlife..including a man in a cabin.
Mathieson will lead you south to Reid Passage which is a narrow but very safe passage that leads you into Seaforth Channel, and from there a short ride on to Bella Bella or Shearwater.
Am still dreaming....have turned Woodwind over to a brokerage....need all the help I can get!
Safe journey...

Wow! Your whale photo is amazing! We are enjoying your blog and look forward to seeing you on your return. If you see a boat named Teddi Bear tell them hello for us. Their names are Teddi and John and are planning to live aboard in Sitka. Ask for a tour as it is a pretty awesome boat.
