Foggy Bay is in our near future

Well, tommorow we take off at 5am for Foggy Bay which is just across Dixon Entrance. It will be about a 50 mile day with a lot of exposure to rough water. Leaving early so that we can take advantage of the tide and currents. If all goes well, we will be arriving around 1:30 pm or so, according to our navigation software. Foggy Bay is in Alaska, so we will be officially back in the "states" tommorow if all goes well. Then to Ketchikan the following day where we will spend some time and change oil, take on fuel, clean the boat, and reprovision to some extent. Seems like we are always busy and the time just flys by! When we get to Ketchikan, we should have phone coverage again and will be calling a few of you to say hi (Theres nothing like a friendly voice on the other end of the phone). If the weather turns sour tommorow, we will either head back to Prince Rupert or stop at Brundige Inlet to wait the bad weather. Stay tuned. Next post will be from Ketchikan! Yea!!!!!

Hi again....
Still following the Purvis-Pike Project...sounds like all is going well. I know you will enjoy Foggy Bay. Take the kayaks and explore the area...fabulous..especically up the Very Inlet portion.
Heading north of Ketchikan, you might consider spending some days in Kassan Bay across Clarence Strait. We spent three glorious days anchored in McKenzie Inlet (Tassaman Cove) exploring the coves, and learning the sea life that lives there. It is a gorgeous inlet. On the way out you might stop and see the ruins of Cassan , an old village with totems and a collapsing lodge house. North on Clarence Strait is Lyman anchorage which was a safe haven for us when Clarence became ugly...then across to Myerschuck..be sure to visit the old school there...brought some kids literature back. We went on to Wrangle via Ernest Sound and stayed one night in Santa Anna Inlet...a quiet, lovely little cove..watched eagles sweep fish out of the water...Wrangle...a great town with a brand new civic center, and a small local bar-returant just down from the marina office that makes the best pizza in the world...no lie!
Forgive me for blubering!
